Sigma 150mm f/2.8 Macro Lens Review 12144 0 Clear & Sharp Macro TrueToad / Thursday, April 25, 2013 / Categories: My Reviews I have owned this lens for well over a year now and used it often last year and now into this year, my primary use for the lens is for Macro work which the 150mm F2.8 EX DG HSM APO Macro lens does very well at, see examples below. Compared to my Nikkor 105mm Micro, the sigma holds it own and offers a slight advantage when it comes to distance which sometimes is more beneficial having a longer focal length, but not always. The main draw back to this lens is the covering that Sigma used to coat the lens, which is like a felt like material and shows mars and marks quite easy. I prefer the new sigma “A” series lens when it comes to finish, but the coating is only a visual drawback for me. Performance wise the Sigma 150mm F2.8 EX DG HSM APO Macro lens does an excellent job of capturing details, and shows good contrast and sharpness. Even at wide open the lens performs wonderful.
