Carolina Wren

Super Song Bird

Wren Size, Shape & Information

Rather Small with a compact body, the images in the gallery below represent two species of  Wren. Wrens have a somewhat flat head and fairly long, curved beak. Short-winged, often keeping its longish tail either cocked above the line of the body or slightly drooped.

The Wren is usually heard before being seen and frequents the shrubs, and bushes frequently but will take an opportunity to do a mating call from a higher tree perch as seen in the video.

Carolina Wrens do not tolerate colder weather of some Northern states and will migrate southward as winter approaches. The Male Carolina Wren unlike others in this genus is the one you hear singing loud boisterous songs during summer. Once the Carolina finds their mate, they stay together for life.

The Wrens are easy to attract to your backyard using common feeders and Suet.

I live at the edge of the forest in semi-moist locations, I enjoy larva, and other delights. Although I am toothless and mostly warty, I am a sight to see.
