After purchasing my Camera Quark which I love to use for its very portable, simplistic use and for the full solar disk views you can achieve by using a standard compatible DSLR camera lens.  To maximize my investment and use the Quark features with the Stellarvue Telescope I wanted to convert it for Telescope use.  My first question was should I purchase another Quark? No, there is no need in doing that unless you just wanted to acquire a Prominence version or Chromosphere version depending on which one you originally purchased.  This article covers how to convert your Camera Quark into a Regular Quark. Guess what it is really simple with a minimal cost of about $100.00.  After the conversion, you will have the ability to use the quark as originally intended with a DSLR Lens or if you have a Telescope, which I believe you do since you are reading this, you would be able to quickly adapt it to the fly for Telescope use.

If you have not purchased a Daystar Quark yet let me suggest this strategy; It will be much cheaper to convert a Camera Quark into a regular Quark than to convert a regular Quark into a Camera Quark version. The reason for the difference is the regular quark will require the Lens adapter and foot and that alone costs about $300.00.  By choosing the Camera Quark and doing the version your cost is only around $100.00.  Here is what you need to make the conversion.

Needed Parts List:  Please note need just one of the eyepiece holders listed below, either a 1 1/4 or 2" - your choice.

Below shows all the parts laid out ready for install and installation could not be more simple, simply unscrew either end of the original parts and apply your new conversion parts. Here are the Parts;

If you purchased the regular quark and wanted to convert that to a camera quark your cost is about $300.00. If you think you would want to use your Daystar Quark for both DSLR and Telescope you can save a few dollars by opting to buy the camera Quark and then convert it to a regular quark for about $110.00 depending on the eyepiece holders you buy one or both.

Shown below is the Camera Quark Converted to a Regular Daystar Quark. This was very simple and straightforward.
